Dog People and Cat People

They say there are dog people and cat people. I happen to like both, and horses as well. My husband likes dogs and swears he hates cats. It may be true, but cats seek him out. They are funny that way. They go right to him and climb in his lap or rub his legs. He picks at them and threatens them. The cats just keep weaving in and out of his legs. Go figure. He even squirts water at them, and they come back and rub his legs or hang around him. It is weird. Is there anyone out there who can explain this to me?
